With some aftermarket plates, like our EZFlex Pro for Bambu printers, we have noticed that the stock Z-Offset that is set in the slicer may be a little too close. This guide will cover changing the stock Z-Offset for the textured plates but can apply to any plate.
For Bambu Studio or Orca Slicer, first open up the slicer and go to the Prepare tab and click the edit button next to the printer you would like to modify
From here, we will move to the Machine gcode section, the area we will be editing will be the “Machine start G-Code”
Scroll down within the Machine start G-code until you find the section for the Textured PEI Plate, or the plate you plan on modifying, these will be near the bottom of the starting G-code.
You will want to edit the line G29.1 Z{-0.04} ; for Textured PEI Plate, to move the offset AWAY from the bed, you will change the -0.04 to a value closer to 0, for our EZFlex PRO plates, we recommend an offset of -0.025 to start but you can adjust this as needed. From here you can hit the save button at the top right to store your settings.
